Astrology, in a broader sense, is the search for “Meaning of a human life” in our vast universe; it seeks to understand general and specific behavior through the influence of Planets and Stars. It has been argued that astrology began as a study as soon as human beings made conscious attempts to measure, record, and predict seasonal changes by reference to astronomical cycles. Initially, astrology was used to assess the countries prospects called “Mundane Astrology”. Later, it was used for individuals. The name RASI of RASI chart comes from the background that Astrology was first used for Ram(RA) and Sita(SI) (Individuals). Vakkya Method, considers Planet’s position that occupies one particular RASI. Thirukanidha method predictions are based on Planet that is on a specific star. However it uses the same methodology as that of Vakkya method. Generally, Planets are slow moving in nature and planetary positions are same for a person born on a particular day. The birth charts of people born between 2 hours (Ascendant-Lagnam) of time period remain the same. But the life pattern of every individual is different. Isn’t it? Later Shri.B.V.Raman used Thirukanidha method with aspects and fortunes of Planet for his prediction. Shri. Meena Gopalakrishna Rao has subdivided 27 stars into 243 sub-lords for the planets, the way “Dasa Bukthi” of Moon is handled. The predictions are same as that for traditional method. Then Prof. K.S. Krishnamoorthy (KP System) has further refined Shri. Meena’s 243 Sublords to 249 sublords. In KP system, Two distinct Horoscopes for Twins can be cast. However predictions are based on Star, Aspects, Fortuna and Significators. Now using the invention of Shri. Thilak. K. Baskaran’s “Baskara Astrology (K.B.System)” i.e. “cuspal interlinking of sublords” theory, two distinct predictions can also be given for twins who are born in few seconds to minutes difference. The uniqueness of Baskara Astrology and how it differs from other system is explained further.
Astrology has preceded astronomy. It has been part and parcel of human life since ages. Our ancestors have passed us a powerful tool (the concepts and mathematics of astrology) based on the understanding during their period.
